These ecological services, include the provision of a regular supply of high quality water, protection from landslides, drought and floods, the regulation of local climate, etc that sustain the lives of some four million people who live and work around the Leuser Ecosystem

Leuser Ground Monitoring

BPKEL Ranger :: Governor Aceh

BPKEL Aceh region has 60 personnel Ranger who served in the monitoring and protection of wildlife habitat in the Leuser Ecosystem. Ranger staff is a local community and members of the KPA (Ex-combatants) who have been trained professionally in terms of security and monitoring of forest.

Each its period (months) they were patrolling in the jungle all around Leuser Ecosystem which is an area of wildlife habitat and have the threat of poaching and the frequency of severe disruption.

In addition to security patrols, the unit is a very important role in terms of data collection and monitoring biodiversity in Leuser. In each district / area of work, each ranger personnel responsible for a team leader who managed by a Supervisor. Each team has 6-7 personnel..
